Recently, the efforts of thousands of volunteer hours, years of strategic planning, dedication of our Board of Directors, commitment from generous sponsors and investors, wonderful downtown business owners, our awesome community members and organizational staff were validated as Old Town Cape received the 2015 Great American Main Street Award from the National Main Street Center. This recognition is bestowed on Accredited Main Street Communities that serve as the nation's best examples of comprehensive commercial district revitalization. We truly can say that Old Town Cape is an entrepreneurial hub, full of creative excitement, and a regional destination for both business and fun. Check out this video for an inside look into our community.
|Old Town Cape, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that works on behalf of downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Downtown Cape is the heart of our town. Spanning 131 blocks from the mighty Mississippi River to West End Boulevard, more than 300 businesses have just what you're searching for from prescriptions and chalk paint, to attorney services, pet treats, antiques, jewelry, clothing, hand-made art, motorcycles, furniture, entertainment, automobile servicing outlets and, we can't forget, delicious food - and that's just the beginning. It is home to media row, Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus and has recently become a creative corridor with the addition of new co-working spaces and creative labs. Some of our area's oldest history lies within the downtown district; the foundation on which our organization operates. It is a pleasure to be able to help revitalize downtown Cape Girardeau and create the area as a destination for residents and visitors to live, work and play. |
When you are downtown, you are in the heart of Cape Girardeau. Enjoy!SaveSave
